About

CPA and software builder since 1999. Building at the intersection of AI and finance operations.

I'm a CPA who's been building software since 1999. I run finance at a startup, but my career has always lived at the intersection of accounting and engineering.

It started with automating the tedious parts of my finance roles โ€” Excel macros, scripts to pull data from APIs, glue code to connect the five different platforms that every finance team somehow ends up with. Over time, the automation became the job. I got deep into data warehouses, API integrations, and building internal tools that turned messy financial data into something trustworthy.

Now I'm focused on what happens when AI agents meet the general ledger. I'm building systems where agents handle invoice processing, reconciliation, exception handling, and audit trail generation โ€” with the same controls and separation of duties we'd expect from a human team.

What I'm Building

VP Finance โ€” an AI-native financial data platform for startups outgrowing QuickBooks but not ready for NetSuite. MCP server, dynamic permissions, and agent-ready infrastructure.

Background

  • CPA (active)
  • VP Finance / Controller roles at venture-backed startups
  • Building production software since 1999
  • Deep experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, data warehouses, and financial reporting automation

What I Write About

The convergence of AI and finance operations. How agents are replacing human middleware in accounting workflows. What "good" looks like when you're building truth layers for companies that move fast.
